  After scheduling the first appointment of the day (8:00am; they open at 8), arriving 10 mins early and waiting an hour total, I left WITHOUT being seen. Even an hour late, staff were unable to give me a specific ETA of when I would be seen, and claimed that I was the 3rd appointment of the day--not the first. How am I the third if my appointment is for the minute you open? This visit cost 2 hours off work, which also counts against my upcoming maternity leave, and an extra 55 minutes of driving to my already long commute. Needless to say, I did not reschedule and will not be going back. The medical field needs to realize that patients are customers--practitioners are not doing us a favor by seeing us, and we shouldn't have to take 1/2 day or more off work/ lives for what will be a 10 minute appointment. There needs to be systems of accountability for the WIDE variation in quality of care and knowledge of practitioners inside the exam room, and also respect for patient's lives and other responsibilities from an operational and wait-time perspective. In the absence of any industry-led structures, I will be voting with my money--and will not support facilities that provide inferior knowledge/care, or ones that cannot even keep the basics of "first appointment of the day" together. I encourage you to do the same!
